These photos were taken Christmas of '09. John seemed really happy to have us all there and it was probably one of my favorite Christmases with him. My niece and nephews and Dylan and I performed a little Christmas Karaoke and John seemed pretty tickled by it.
The top 2 photos are John opening my & Dylan's presents to him. In the first he's laughing quite hard, but discreetly, over a t-shirt that said, "I'm the one you've got to blow to get a drink around here."
The second is self explanatory. I think he got a kick out of it.
I don't know if he ever wore them, but I just wanted to make him laugh.

The last photo here is a portrait taken by Ihsan McCoy.
I think it captures his Great Grandfather pretty nicely.

These are such fun to see, Phoebe. I did see those two tee shirts in his closet when I was looking through it...perhaps he was waiting for warmer weather?

I first met John Stark when I was just 13 years old. My dad Chuck Raymond and John were best friends at the time. They arrived in Wichita to paint the town RED. John had the delight of going shopping with my sister Leslie, myself and our Dad, Chuck. After a day of shopping, we dined at the top of the Holiday Inn in beautiful downtown Wichita. I have never forgotten it! I believe that this was the very same trip where Chuck introduced this fine Scottish lad to his older sister Shirley. They were taken with each other from the start. A match made in heaven! This Scottish visitor made Wichita his home for the next 37 years of his life. Cheers to John and condolences to all of you.
