- John took us kids there when we got to visit back in 1976 and Joe and Nance and I walked up to the top of that thing. I never hiked much before that. John gave me my first pair of hiking boots from his own closet. They were damned uncomfortable but of the finest quality.
I remember when John took us to Arthur's Seat and we hiked up and back down and he told me and Linda with our huffing and puffing and pink cheeks that he'd never seen us look healthier!
That last comment was mine,...Nancy's, not John's.
